Prassadam Kitchen is the order screen a restaurant's kitchen works from. Prassadam builds and runs online ordering for restaurants; the restaurant decides who in its kitchen gets a login. This page says what the app collects, why, where it is kept and how to have it removed.
Who can use the app
Only restaurant staff. You cannot sign up in the app: the restaurant owner creates each kitchen login on the Prassadam dashboard and can switch it off at any time. The app is not meant for customers or for children.
What the app collects and why
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name, email address and password for the kitchen login | To sign you in and show which restaurant and branch you work for. The password is stored only as a one-way hash. |
| The orders of your restaurant: dishes, notes, the customer's name, and for a delivery the delivery details | So the kitchen can prepare and hand over each order. These belong to the restaurant and are shown, not collected, by the app. |
| Each step you take on an order (accepted, cooking, ready) and stock changes on the menu | So the restaurant and its customer see the order's progress, and the restaurant can see who did what. |
| A notification token and an installation ID for the phone or tablet | To send a new-order alert to the device when the app is closed. Signing out removes it. |
The app does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos. It shows no ads and contains no advertising or analytics trackers. The spoken "New order" alert is made by the phone's own text-to-speech engine, on the device.
On the device
The app keeps your sign-in, language, sound and screen settings on the device so it opens straight to the order board. Signing out clears the sign-in.
Who it is shared with
- The restaurant you work for: its owner sees orders and the steps taken on them.
- Service providers that run the service for us, only for that purpose: our servers and database (hosted in Singapore and Mumbai), and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Security
Everything between the app and our servers travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. A kitchen login only ever sees its own restaurant, and a login pinned to one branch only that branch.
How long it is kept
A kitchen login is kept while the restaurant uses Prassadam. Order records are kept as the restaurant's business records for as long as accounting and tax law require.
Deleting your data
Ask your restaurant owner to switch off your kitchen login; it stops working at once on every device. To have the login and your name and email removed, ask the owner or contact us through the form at prassadam.com with the email address of the login. We reply within 30 days. The steps you took on orders stay in the restaurant's order history without your name.
